TITLE     EDIBLE STAR FOR THE BIRDS
DESCRIPTION     Bread, peanut butter and birdseed make an edible yummy for the birds.
  DETAILS

Cut a frozen piece of bread into a star using our template and a knife. Cover with peanut butter. Press in bird seed. With a large eyed needle and multiple strands of thread, sew a stitch in the center of the star, tying a loop in the back for hanging. Find a suitable bush or tree, hang and see who comes to nibble. Local Birds Inc. has a quick guide to commonly seen local birds in the San Francisco Bay Area. Fun to have on hand so you can name your visitors. As yet these guides are only available in selected areas of the country. Perhaps more to come. Check out localbirds.com.
