  TITLE     CUDDLY SPIDER
DESCRIPTION     Styrofoam ball covered with boa material.
DETAILS     I'm always haunting the craft store, picking up intriguing items for my craft basket without any specific idea as to how I'll use them. And so I have a skein of black boa material which is perfect for wrapping around a Styrofoam ball and creating a silky, hairy, cuddly spider just in time for Halloween. This couldn't be easier. Just wrap the ball in the fabric which comes in a long strand like yarn, but fringed. With a straight pin. affix the beginning and the end to the Styrofoam. Glue on googly eyes or make your own, stick in some pipe cleaners for legs and presto - a spider you rather enjoy petting. Alternatively you could use black yarn, but I'm partial to my boa, it's so soft and could change our attitude toward spiders. In most cases they are needlessly maligned!
