For the last couple of birthdays, we have taken the grandchildren to the store of their choice and let them pick out their own present. We set what we think is a generous price limit. Be forewarned, there is no way you won’t exceed that limit. The non-birthday grandchild gets to go too and buy an “unbirthday” present of lesser value. That price limit will also be exceeded. This turns out to be a lengthy process, decisions, decisions. In July we were in the stamp store with our grandson for over an hour. Behind the counter, a patient and
knowledgeable mentor helped us with the beginnings of a nice stamp collection. In the Spring, we were at Talbot’s toys with the results pictured. “Tiggy” sleeps just outside the door of our granddaughter’s room, warding off any evil spirits. |
