Take Bart to the Powell Street station. Board the cable car at the base
of Powell. Try to get the first seats in front on the outside, right up
against the glass. The view going down hill from here is really cool. It
was labor day week-end when we went, and there was a long line both
going and coming back. Maybe not so bad on a regular day, but be
prepared to wait. We rode down to the bay and walked to Pier 39 where
there is both an aquarium and a two tiered
carousel. Also in the midst of a multitude of stores, there is a special
chocolate store with an incredible array of tempting
morsels. It now costs $5.00 for a one way trip on the cable car. Add the
aquarium, the carousel and those tempting chocolate morsels and you have
spent a bundle. If you're going in the summer, remember to take some
warm clothes in case it's foggy. |
